Brief introduction:
Optical Brightener OB-1 is a high molecular weight fluorescent whitening agent which significantly improves the whiteness in both textile fibers and plastics.
Optical Brightener OB-1 produces very brilliant white with light reddish Blue effect which compensate for yellowing. It has good light fastness. Because of it’s exceptional whitening properties, excellent resistance to heat, low volatility and easy dispersibility it is now widely used in plastic market. It has good compatibility in various substrates, in combination with dyes it produces bright shades.

Properties: Does not dissolve in water, can dissolve in such high boiling point solvents as trichlorobenzene, diphenyl ether, etc.; Because this product has high melting point and strong stability, so it has very good heat resistance; Because this product`s hydrophobic nature, so it has good light fastness; and for it has strong fluorescence, it can not only improve the whiteness of the products but also can improve the brightness, so it can be used as disperse dyes in the chemical fiber, can be used like oil dissolving coloring agent in the plastics
Application:
1. Suitable for whitening chemical fibers, such as the polyester fiber, nylon fiber, polypropylene fiber and so on.
2. Suitable for whitening and brightening polypropylene plastic, hard PVC, ABS, EVA, polystyrene, polycarbonate, etc.
3. Suitable to be added into the conventional polymerization of polyester and nylon.
4. Especially suitable for whitening the plastics of elevated temperature compaction
Advantages:
Optical brightener OB-1 with different chemical formulas and applications compared with Optical brightener OB. The final whiteness derived using OB 1 has a light reddish-blue effect. Optical brightener OB-1 has a higher melting point of about 360 degrees, it makes OB-1 can be used in materials that require high-temperature processing.
From the cost, Optical brightener OB-1 is cheaper than OB. Most manufacturers choose the OB-1 over the former as it’s cheap.
