Brief introduction:

Sulfurized Isobutylene T321G with the CAS number 68511-50-2 is a sulfur-containing additive, which appears as a light yellow oily liquid, which has excellent extreme – pressure antiwear performance, good solubility in oil and structural stability, and other characteris – tics. It is the main agent for preparing various gear lubricants and can also be used to prepare anti – wear hydraulic oil and many different lubricants.

Performance Characteristics:


1. Syner Chem T321G has excellent Extreme Pressure and Anti-wear Properties: It has a relatively high sulfur content and can form an effective protective film on the metal surface. Under boundary lubrication conditions, it can prevent direct contact between metals, thereby significantly reducing wear and prolonging the service life of mechanical equipment.
2. Syner Chem T321G has good Oil Solubility: It can dissolve well in lubricating oils such as gear oil to form a stable lubricating system, ensuring that the additive is evenly dispersed during the use process and can fully exert its performance.
3. Syner Chem T321G has low Copper Corrosion: During the use process, its corrosiveness to copper-containing alloys is relatively low. This enables it to be widely used in lubrication systems where multiple metal components work together without causing serious corrosion to copper parts, ensuring the stability of the entire system.

Application: 

Sulfurized Isobutylene T321G is the main extreme pressure and anti-wear agent for formulating gear oil and industrial oils. It can be combined with other chemical components such as sulfur, phosphorus, and nitrogen to formulate various specifications of gear oil, metal processing oil, anti-wear hydraulic oil, and lubricating grease, etc. It can significantly improve the extreme pressure and anti-wear properties of lubricating oils to meet the lubrication requirements of mechanical equipment under different working conditions.

Production Process:

Traditional Production Process: The traditional production process of Sulfurized Isobutylene T321 generally uses sulfur chloride as the basis to react with isobutylene to produce the product. However, this method has some drawbacks. For example, a large amount of wastewater is generated during the production process, which puts great pressure on the environment, and the equipment is seriously corroded. In addition, although the chloride content in the product is less than 0.05%, it still has a certain impact on the environment in the later use stage, which does not meet the increasingly strict environmental protection requirements.


High-pressure Method (One-step Method): This is a relatively advanced production process with the advantages of simple reaction, short production process, and the product being free of chlorine elements. However, this process also has some problems. For example, it will produce thiol waste gas that is difficult to handle, or the pressure in the reaction system is too high, resulting in relatively high requirements for the equipment. Moreover, the product contains more harmful low-boiling sulfides.
