Optical Brightener FP-127, also known as Fluorescent Brightener 378, is a type of fluorescent whitening agent used to enhance the brightness and whiteness of materials. Its chemical name is 2,2′-(2,5-thiophenediyl)bis(5-tert-butylbenzoxazole).
Optical Brightener FP-127 works by absorbing ultraviolet (UV) light and emitting blue light in the visible spectrum. This optical effect compensates for the natural yellowish or grayish tones of materials, making them appear brighter and whiter to the human eye.
